Raise a Mug for Mermaids

This Pride season, we’re asking you to grab a cuppa, enjoy a slice of cake, and Raise a Mug for Mermaids.

Taking part couldn’t be easier. Simply sign up, choose a date, and Raise a Mug to support the trans community.

Maybe you’ll choose to throw a rainbow tea party at home, treat your colleagues to some homemade bakes at work, or share a coffee break online. How you Raise a Mug for Mermaids is completely up to you!

Get together to share some cake, have a cuppa, and raise vital funds to help transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse children be themselves and thrive. Every pound raised will ensure we can continue to reduce loneliness, provide support, and advocate for young people and their families.

Our amazing supporters (you!) are the reason we’re able to keep helping the trans community, year after year. So this summer, we’re asking you to get together and Raise a Mug for Mermaids. Click below to get your free digital fundraising pack.

How your money makes an impact

Every pound raised will ensure we can continue to reduce loneliness, provide support, and advocate for young people and their families. This is the impact our services have:

“After the call that I received to get started with Mermaids, I cried a little bit because the person I was speaking to was so kind and so understanding, it felt like someone really understood and heard what I was talking about for the first time. I’m really thankful for that”

“Like so many parents before me, I feel all mix of emotions, and want to do what is right, and this was an important first step. I feel secure just knowing where to find support for now so thank you.”

“”I don’t feel so alone now. I also felt comfortable being honest about my situation. Nobody judged me.”

When you Raise a Mug, what will you say?

Start a conversation about gender diversity over a cuppa this Pride season. If you’re unsure what to say, here’s a handful of resources to get you started:

Mermaids’ glossary

TransActual’s facts about trans lives and trans rights

Warwick’s Trans and Queer learning circle

Share your best bakes

We’d love to see your rainbow tea parties in action! Remember to use #RaiseAMugForMermaids when you post your cake creations and coffee morning celebrations on social media.
