During the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions Mermaids is continuing to operate core services including our helpline, webchat, email, forums and text support services, ensuring we are there for children and young people who may be feeling more isolated at this difficult time. We are also delivering regular virtual events now that we cannot offer in person services. Find out more here.

At Mermaids we have a proven track record working with corporate partners who share our values in wanting to support trans and gender-diverse youth and their families. We work with businesses to create meaningful partnerships that meet their objectives. There are a number of ways we work with corporates, including:
● Staff training and volunteering opportunities
● Charity of the year partnerships
● Commercial and/or collaborative partnerships
● Supporting your programme of events for staff, including digital events under COVID-19 restrictions
● Consulting on your CSR or LGBT inclusion strategy
● Trans inclusion policy reviews

Starbucks & Mermaids #WhatsYourName
Mermaids was delighted to partner with Starbucks for their #WhatsYourName campaign. #WhatsYourName was the winning entry to the 2019 Channel 4 Diversity in Advertising Award that focused on the representation of LGBT+ individuals in advertising.
Their groundbreaking campaign featured the story of a young trans person trying their new name for the first time in a Starbucks store, an experience that resonated with many of the young trans people that Mermaids support. During February and March 2020 Starbucks sold a limited edition Mermaids cookie nationwide in the UK. 50p of each cookie sale went towards supporting the Mermaids helpline services, with a minimum donation of £100,000.
