This Pride month at Mermaids, we’re asking people to celebrate #MyPrideFamily! Whether it’s your chosen LGBTQ+, biological or adopted family, we want to celebrate each other for the support, kindness and shelter we bring. We’ve seen over the last year, how important human connection is and how tough it can be when we feel isolated. Support from family can be a huge thing for LGBTQ+ people: unconditional love, acceptance and care are what we all need, and unfortunately, what too many LGBTQ+ people lack. Family underpins everything we do at Mermaids supporting transgender, non-binary and gender diverse young people and their caregivers.
